which of the following is a risk factor for heart disease?

Total blood cholesterol

LDL lower than 100mg

Vigorous Physical exercise

HDL greater than 60mg

Solutions

Expert Solution

HDL value greater than 60 mg and LDL value less than 100 mg is considered as two healthy factors for normal body function, cardiac activities and for healthy blood vessels in both men and women.HDL value less than ,60 mg and LDL value more than 100 mg is associated with increased risk for atherosclerosis and blockage of many of the blood vessels including heart and brain, which can contribute to MI and stroke.A total cholesterol level less than ,170-180 is considered as good for the body.Increased amount of total cholesterol more than 180 can cause obesity and other cardiac problems like hypertension.

But vigorous physical activity is not considered as a good activity for healthy heart. Usually physical exercise improves cardiac activities.but in vigorous physical exercise, chances of MI is high due to the development of blood clots and frequent damage happening to the endothelium of blood vessels.Hence this will increase the risk of MI and other cardiac problems. Vigorous physical exercise is a risk factor for cardiac problem.
