Problem Definition: You have to design a feedback controller for the Boost Converter that link a voltage source ?? = 80 ± 20% to a load with dc output voltage of 380V. The maximum output current is 2.5A.

Questions:

1- Design the Boost converter to satisfy the required output voltage and current.

a. Determine the inductance value for continuous conduction mode (CCM).

b. Determine a reasonable output voltage ripple and calculate the capacitance accordingly.

c. Justify any assumption you made.

d. In PSIM, run an open-loop simulation based circuit with diode, transistor for fixed input voltage and duty cycle. Repeat the simulation with different input voltages and duty cycles. Use pulse generator in PSIM to command the switch.

2- Derive the equations and average model for this boost converter.

3- Define the dc/dc converter transfer function and the compensated error amplifier general transfer function (Type-III).

4-Discuss how you design the controller of the boost converter.

5-Design any closed loop controller for your Boost converter. You might use any type of analog compensator or using PI controller with manual tuning. Implement a variable step voltage source and show the response of the controller. Output voltage should be kept at 380V while the input voltage changes between 80 ± 20% (example: start the simulation with 80V and set the step voltage source to jump into 85V or 90V at t=2 s).

Problem: Design and write a C language program that can be used as a unit converter application. Your unit converter should contain at least four unit categories, for example: length, mass, temperature, and time. The program should display the main menu that contains unit categories that are available, and the user will be prompted to select a unit category first. After the unit category has been selected the program should then display another menu (i.e., a submenu) that contains at...
