1.
146 lbs = 66.2245 Kg
5’11” = 180.34 cms
Estimated calorie= 1680 current calorie intake
Required calorie = 2,000 calories
Protein requirements: 1 g/kg/day of protein.
John needs around 67g of protein per day
Fluid requirements = ½ to 1ounce per each pound of body weight
i.e. 33 to 67 ounce of fluids
2.
BMI = weigh(kg)/ height(m)2
=66.2245/ (1.8034 x1.8034)
= 20.36
Estimated ideal body weight in (kg) , Males: IBW = 50 kg + 2.3 kg for each inch over 5 feet.
i.e. 50 kg +(2.3 x 11) = 75.3 kg
Mr. John needs to gain (75.3 -66.2245) weight = 9.0755 kg
Mr. John needs to improve his calorie intake to 2000 per day to achieve ideal body weight.
3. He can include protein shakes, pureed foods, soups etc. in his diet
4. Minimize the intake of foods like coffee, fried foods like potato chips, pastry etc. Consider the intake of foods with unsaturated fatty acids, and less trans-fat. Include more green leafy vegetable, fruits or juices and dry fruits in diet.
