What happened in France after Napoleon? ( In the context of french revolution)
Following the defeat of Napoleon in 1814, the Bourbon Monarchy was restored in France.
The brothers of the executed Louis XVI, namely Louis XVIII and Charles X, successively mounted the throne and instituted a conservative government aiming to restore the proprieties, if not all the institutions, of the Ancien Régime.
They didn’t manage to reverse most of the changes made by the French Revolution and the reinstatement of slavery by Napoleon. The Bourbon Restoration was a period of internal and external peace for France following the decades of war and economic instability
