What is the clinical deficiency presented by hemophilic people? What is the genetic cause of that deficiency?
The clinical deficiency presented by hemphilic people is a bleeding disorder that results in slow blood clotting process. In people with normal blood, there are presence of proteins known as clotting factors/coagulation factors specifically coagulation factor VIII and coagulation factor IX that function together together to to form a clot when bleeding occurs in our body.In case of hemophilic people, certain the mentioned clotting factor is missing or there is not enough of a certain clotting factor as a result of which clot is not formed when bleeding ocuurs.Hemophilia is of two types. The genetic cause is mutation in F8 gene that causes hemophilia A in which abnormal coagulation factor VIII or less of it is formed and mutation in F9 gene that causes hemophilia B in which abnormal coagulation factor VIII or less of it is formed.Severe hemophilia results when both the genes are mutated simultaneoulsy.
