Discuss the nurse-physician conflict where ethical duties and rights are concerned. < They have different roles and operate out of different models!!!
Patients are always fell comfortable with a nurse, doctor or any other health professional that is friendly. In todays complex, there are conflicts between nurses and physicians occurs everyday in health care organizations. Consequently it will grown into a major subfield of organizational behavior. Ethical issues in nursing practice are explored as if they occurred in a vacuum. Many nurses are not in decision making position, and resolving ethical problems out of the total nurses of the organization, sometimes conflicting and obligating. Conflicts can arise from fundamental disparities in knowledge and power.
In our attempt to help nurses analyze situation during ethical rounds we have seen confusions arising in differentiating between rights and between duties and obligations of patients, physicians etc. Understanding the reasons for such conflicts is a first step towards developing strategies to deal withvthe ethical dilemmas. Collaboration is generally regarded as the best way to resolve conflict, because it reduces competition and avoidance without excessive accomodation. Studies shows that nurses most often uses withdrawal.
