Serous membrane
Composed of two distinct layers of tissue. The epithelial sheet which is a thin layer of simple squamous epithelium, and connective tissue layer , which is thin glue like tissue that holds and supports the epithelial cells.
Purpose : the serous membrane that lines the walls of body cavities is the parietal portion where as the visceral portion covers the surface of organs found in body cavities
Mucous membrane
Epithelial membranes that pine body surface opening directly to the exterior such as the lining of the respiratory digestive, urinary and reproductive tracts. The mucocutaneous junction serves as a point of fusion where the skin and mucous membranes meet such as in the eyelids, nasal openings, vulva and anus.
Synovial membrane:
Synovial membrane line the spaces between bones and jointsts that move . They are classified as connective tissue membranes which are smooth , slick and secrete a thick colourless lubrication fluid called synovial fluid
Function synovial fluid : help reduce friction between opposing surfaces of bones in movable joints.
Cutaneous membrane:
We have the epidermis which is the outer epithelium tissue and dermis is the connective tissue . It's made of simple squamous epithelium that is on the top of a loose areolar connective tissue
The cutaneous membrane is the technical term for our skin the skin primary role is to help protect the rest of the body tissue and organ Rom physical damage such as abrasions, chemical damage such as detergents , and biological damage from microorganisms.
