Research and read about universal healthcare efforts in the United States. Using approximately 200 to 400 words, provide the pros and cons of universal healthcare in the United States.
Universal healthcare efforts are very much disscussed now a days in the view of coming presiddential elections. It is very important for both patients and doctors. For doctors it has both advantages and diadvantages,
no doubt that universal healthcare efforts would make healthcare facilities so easily affordable that it will become very convinient for the citizens to get themselves treated. it will help to eradicate social inequalities.
As the healthcare becomes affordable big number of population would come out to reach to mainstream health care facilities .Those who currently don’t have coverage for certain niche types of care would now be able to seek medical help. This would definetly be beneficial for the clinician also as the patient load would increase.
But thissystems also has a lot of diadvantages. Financial expenses of the government would increase drastically, a huge amount of tax payed by healthy people would be invested to treat the poor ones.
not only that, even for doctors it has certain disadvantages, with single payer healthcare system doctors wont be able to set their own cost, it will make them less flexible, and it might happen that doctrs may cut care provided to the patients to lower the cost, thus diminising the quality of cre.
Also, due to the increased load, there will be huge waiting queues.
The one thing everyone can agree on is this: our current healthcare system is a mess. Those who need care aren’t receiving it and costs are much higher than anyone would like. As we move into a new year and a new political era, it is important for you as a medical professional to decide where you feel universal healthcare fits into our system based on these pros, cons, and your personal experience.
