In a quasi experiment, the participants are randomly assigned. IV are manipulated, but the subjects are already a part of a group based on pre-existing characteristics. Quasi experiment designs are more suitable for the real world setting and are a seemingly practical way of research as opposed to true experiments. In case of the absence of large samples, randomization and availablity of control group, it seems more viable. It establishes a causal relationship between the variables being studies whic are highly useful in determining the causal link between the occurences of the two factors. An explanatory model may be closer to the data whereas, a predictive model may be accurately predicting in the research study. This means the former is closer to the data whereas the latter is merely an estimate. Explanatory method may help the experimenter stay close to his database and make the analysis accordingly. The reliability and validity of the results thereafter are likely to be higher in such a case as opposed the usage of a predictive model.
