• Simple squamous epithelium are present at sites where there is need of diffusion like blood vessel, alveoli. They have single layer of flat cells and therefore it becomes easy for any substance to diffuse across it. Like in alveoli there is rapid diffusion of gases and this is aided by presence of simple squamous epithelium
