8.) Name the locations where you would typical find the following tissue types: stratified squamous epithelium, pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium, transitional epithelium
9.) Describe the organizational chart.
8. Stratified squamous- found in skin , lips, tongue, tonsils, esophagus, sebaceous gland, blood vessels.
Pseudo stratified ciliated columnar epithelium- found is respiratory tract.
Transitional epithelium- found in urothelium (urinary tract)
9. Stratified squamous epithelium- here the cells are flat and arranged in multiple layers. Since there are multiple layers present, these are present in those parts which are exposed to wear and tear like skin and esophagus.
Pseudo stratified ciliated columnar epithelium- pseudo stratified means that there is only single layer of cell, but because the nucleus is arranged in different levels, the tissue appears pseudo stratified. Cilia helps in movement of substances like in respiratory tract, it helps in movement of mucus, air, dust particles etc.
Transitional epithelium- here cells are arranged in multiple layers. The cells have the capacity to expand and contract. So these are present in urinary bladder where due to storage of urine, the bladder expands and contract due to transitional epithelium.
