Comparative evaluation of the Skelton of Chordata and vertebrate?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Vertebrates are a type of advanced chordates. Chordates are characterized by the presence of a notochord. Both chordates and vertebrates contain a nerve cord, pharyngeal gill slits, and post-anal tail at some points of their life. The main difference between chordates and vertebrates is that some chordates do not have a vertebral column whereas all vertebrates have a vertebral column. In vertebrates, the vertebral column surrounds and protects the nerve cord. Both chordates and vertebrates consist of a central nervous system. The brain of the vertebrates is protected by the skull.

Comparative performance evaluation pays employees based on their performance relative to others. (a) Explain why employers might want to use comparative performance evaluation. (b) Explain the trade-offs involved in choosing alternative comparisons for evaluation. Chordates, members of the phylum Chordata, are part of the clade Deuterostomia. Chordates include the vertebrates (animals that have a vertebral column, or backbone) as well as three groups of invertebrates. Part A - Derived characters of chordates All chordates share a set of derived characters during at least some part of their life. Drag the labels to their correct locations on the diagram of chordate characters below. Use blue labels for blue targets and pink labels for pink targets.
