SPSS means statistical package for social sciences. This software is used by various kinds of researchers for complex statistical analysis of data.

  • Statistical tests for social sciences are easier in SPSS. This package is equipped with a complete set of statistical tests.
  • The data from other sources can import into the SPSS.
  • The MS-Excel is used for statistical calculations. The SPSS is a software used for the same statistical calculation but it has some advanatages over MS-Excel.They are easier access, excellent pivot tables in SPSS, detailed charts and graphs, easy to create tables and preventing data entry errors.
  • Statistical data collected for a survey deals with variety of codes. The conersion of these codes into values are very easy in SPSS.
  • The SPSS would give accurate results in spite of missing values.

The SPSS is a fairy and simple statistical package. But Excel is a fairly complicated system.
