1.The Erickson theory of development is still in use .It consists of eight stages from infancy to older adults .

During the period of infancy to one and half year it describes how the child is able to develop hope. Then till 3 years the child learns will power in doing every action .Then till 5years the child initiates and learns out of guilt .Then till 13 years of age the child learns to be competent in their life. Till 21years they develop the behavior of faithfulness or fidelity .Till 39 years they develop by understanding the concept of intimacy and isolation. From 40-65 they are often generative and are very caring for others. In older days they develop the wisdom power.

Though these all stages are available .Erickson theory focuses much on the infancy period than any other stages of life .The theory fits mostly for boys.It can vary when compared on the basis of culture ,today's lifestyle and thoughts on marriage, responsibilities ,etc., All these contributed to the limitations or weaknesses in the side of this theory but the major strength is it's use as a basis in most cases to know the psychosocial development of an individual .
