Growth is a process of increase in size. Growth is a natural phenomenon in almost all living beings. But if there is any deviation in normal process of growth it calls growth disturbances. There so many causes of growth disturbance they are enlisted below =

- malnutrition,

- improper section of growth hormone and other hormones like as pitutary hormone, Adrenaline, thyroid hormone etc.

- chromosomal anomelies,

- any chronic illness, congenital anomalies,

- heredity

- premature birth of baby,

- low immunity and improper health education and family planning of parents etc.

The pathophysiology of growth disturbances =

Due to the etiological factors ( malnutrition, hormone, chromosomal anomelies etc) the cell decision mechanism delayed or accelerated due to improper supply of intrinsic factors and nutrients. As cell devision is improper the tissues and organs growth also decline or increase. So ultimately growth is disturbed.
