1. Describe the evolution of marketing research. How has the role of marketing research changed as the field has evolved? How is social media changing marketing research?
In digital age marketing comes in all shapes in sizes. Some organizations have their own intrernal marketing department executing on dedicated on going marketing campaign for many start ups. Marketing takes place at least in part with the help of an external agency in both cases a lot of balls to keep in the air at once email marketing campaigns, social media marketing, search engine marketing, content marketing.
It is clear that the marketing research is changing faster than ever before. We have experience more changes in the last five years than 70 years combined. But the more important than the rate of change is the nature of the change itself. While the evolutionary change of the past was the much more linear and primary associated with methods and data collection techniques the current patterns indicate a shift based on a truer qualitative evolution.
