There are many hazards that nurses can face as they take care of their patients. Some of them are as listed below:

• Cold and flu germs: Nurses are under constant exposure to sick patients. They often carry cold and flu germs and nurses might get affected or infected by them.
• Injuries: Nurses experience more than 35,000 injuries involving the back, hands, shoulders and feet each year.
• Hand washing related dermatitis: As the right tools aren't available nurses face moderate to severe damage related to hand washing.
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens: Needle sticks and splashes leads to exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

One hazard that can harm me and/or my patient in the healthcare setting is exposure to flu and cold germs.
