the elderly need this nutrient to prevent muscle wasting

the elderly need this nutrient to prevent muscle wasting

Solutions

Expert Solution

Along with the increasing age, the muscles along with all the body functions get less active. After a certain age, the gradual loss of muscles mass begins. The age-related loss of muscles mass is known as sarcopenia. But to maintain or to prevent the muscles wasting, one must follow the treatment. There are many Natural ways to prevent the muscles wasting, some are as follows:

1) Intake of protein: As we all know that proteins is one of the best nutrient to maintain and repair the muscles fibre. At the elderly stage, one must follow the diet that is full of protien, approximately 50 gm of protien intake is recommended. Some of the foods that conatin healthy protiens are as follows:

Grass-fed beef, Whey protein (organic, ideally from raw goat milk), Lentils etc.

2) Exercise: At the old age some of the exercise is mandatory, so as to keep body fit and healthy muscles.

3) Omega 3 Fatty acid: This has been very useful during the elderly time, as it also keeps heart healthy. It can be taken as a supplement.
