The patient asks you to leave the medication at the bedside, stating, “I will take these after breakfast.” What should the nurse say and/or do?
Medicine can be defined as a drug or other preparation for the treatment or prevention of disease. Medicine are given after diagnosis the condition and it's strength. It is prescribed by calculating the weight and height of the client.
Like intravenous medicine administration oral medicines also should be administered by the nurse. While administering make sure that the nurse is meeting all the 10 rights of drug administration.

Wen the patient says that she will take later, the patient may forget it and the nurse will document as administratored. Thus dosage can be skipped with out health care provider knowledge. So, right medicine is not given at a right dosage in right route at right time which may lead to aggressive the condition and can result in prescribing extra drug for the patient.
On another hand there are patients who takes medicine later as told but the nurse cannot expect it all the time.
Finally the patient have to suffer
