Which of the following is NOT an example of intellectual property?
A. Software
B. Office stationary
C. Art
D. Movies
E. Inventions
For any producer, the ultimate aim for production of goods and services is to earn profits or revenue for themselves. For this, the governments have introduced a concept called intellectual property which guarantees those who create "intangible products" or services and those that are "creations of the mind" an exclusive right to sell these products or services and no other producer is allowed to copy the same. This is done as a measure to protect the rights of the first creator for numerous years, and give him the added advantage of being able to generate his income without competition being the solo creator of the product or service itself in the market place.
Having known, what intellectual property means, we look at all of the options and find, that software, art, movies and other inventions are all intangible in nature, and can be protected under this law as a creation of intellect and intelligence and can be given exclusive rights of sale under which these cannot be reproduced. However, Office Stationary is a generic product name and can be for numerous other sub products each of which are tangible in nature.
Therefore, the correct answer to the question is office stationary as it cannot be protected as an intellectual property but rather is a generic produce for sale which is tangible.
Option B) is the correct answer
