How will you determine if a parturient is in true labor
How are you going to manage a parturient during labor and birth?
Step 1
As a female approach the time of birth, her contractions draw the cervix up into the body of the uterus, and it becomes thinner (called effacement) and opens (called dilation).
Step 2
Signs of true labor are-
Regular uterine contractions, cervical dilation, bloody show as the mucus plug is lost, pin intensifies with walking, pain in the belly and lower back and water breaks.
when a parturient is during a labor or birth process then firstly take her to the doctor or the hospital. once the cervix is completely dilated (open to 10 cm), she will be encouraged to start pushing. For most women, it feels better to push than not to push. Most women with epidurals push very effectively and will not need the assistance of forceps to deliver. To push effectively, a parturient will need to take a deep breath and hold it in her lungs, put her chin on her chest, and pull her legs towards her chest while bearing down. Women use the same muscles to push out a baby as they do to push out a bowel movement. Some women who have had a few babies may push only one or two times to deliver the baby because the muscles have been stretched before. Most mothers are given the opportunity to delivery vaginally first, depending on any projected complications.
