Can you please explain in detail. Thanks

TASK 1

Minimise atrophy of the external rotator muscles at the glenohumeral joint as person recovers from injury and has restricted range of the GHJ.

  1. What exercise would you use? Type of contraction? Single or multi-joint? Open or closed kinetic chain?
  2. What strategies would you use when teaching a patient to perform this exercise who is in the cognitive phase of skill acquisition?
  3. Once fully recovered and all movement at the GHK is allowed, how would you modify/progress the exercise to continue to increase the strength of those muscles?
  4. Describe the prescription variables that you would use to improve strength (reps, sets etc).

TASK 2

The Barbell Squat

  1. How would you teach a person to barbell squat in cognitive phase of skill acquisition? What are the key features of this phase of skill acquisition?
  2. What muscles are the agonist / antagonist in each phase of the exercise?
  3. What types of muscle contractions are involved for the hip, knee and trunk extensors? Isometric, eccentric or concentric?
  4. Is this exercise open or closed kinetic chain, single or multi- joint?
  5. If a person had poor balance but you needed to strengthen the trunk, hip, and knee extensor muscles, how could you modify this exercise by changing the type of resistance?
  6. What are the advantages and limitations of using a squat compared to single-joint exercises for each individual muscle?

TASK 2

A. BARBELL SQUAT

Barbell squat is to strengthen the lower limb muscles mainly

quadriceps,gluteus muscles, hamstrings

cognitive phase of skill acquisition

proper way for doing barbell squat is

The barbell should placed on the traps properly by placing the hand on each side little wider to the shoulder,

And stand slightly wider than the hip,and your toes should be pointed outwards about 5 to 15 accord to the lifter and chest will be upstaright and they should look forward, and their spine will in neutral position,

Moving the hip towards back side as much possible

And there will be full range of motion to down and towards up for every repitation.

B . Antagonist muscles

Hamstrings(semimembroneus, semitendoneus, biceps femoris) flutes minimum and medius ,abdominal muscles

Agonise muscles

quadriceps( vactus lateralis and Medialis and rectus femoris)

Hip adductors, tibialis anterior, illopsoas.

C.contraction of muscles

hip :hip contract isometrically to stabilize the hip during the movement

eccentric contraction is refers to the muscle where it get loads and tension

Quadriceps muscles will be eccentrically contracted

D. Squat is closed kinetic chain and multi joint

E.  If they have poor balance, they have to lift the the weight with low resistance and gradually increase in the resistance according to their balance,

Before doing barbell squat, first ask them to perform

squat without barbel weight , for 20 reps with3 setq

and gradually ask them to perform with barbell weight.

F. Advantages

It is the versatile exercise which means we do in any location, either with keeping weight or without using the weight and it mainly focus on quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteal muscles and tone and strengthen the leg and keeps the body in good posture and makes lower limb to look good and in better look.

Can you please explain me this question? Thanks! A manufacturer of AAA batteries wants to estimate the mean life expectancy of the batteries. A sample of 20 such batteries shows that the distribution if life expectancies is roughly normal with a sample mean of 32.5 and a sample standard deviation of 2.75 hours. Construct a 95% confidence interval for the mean life expectancy of AAA batteries made by this manufacturer.
