What are the steps to preparing a lab report? Create a paragraph or two with a detailed explanation of how you would create a lab report. Create a mock lab report based on any simple experiment.
no handwritten/cursive text. No pictures of reply please.
That depends on the rules that exist in your school (or laboratory) to present the reports.
But in a general way I can tell you that it goes like this:
Cover page: Which must include your personal and laboratory data (name and surname of you and your teachers) as a minimum (you can give it a better presentation by putting the school or faculty badges in watermark)
In the nexts pages:
-The title of the lab practice/activity
-A brief introduction (describing background, historical background, why are you doing that and so on and so on)
-Methodology (you can put flow charts, materials used and so on and so on)
-Objectives (what do you want to determine or demonstrate)
-Hypothesis
-Results (after of doing the math, show the final data)
-Discussion (of the results, why do you get that results,problematics/troubleshooting)
-Conclusions
-Bibliography (of the articles and books that you consulted in APA or Chicago format, even if you school has it own format that is the one that you should use)
Now my mock report is based on a real article about mountain bicycles
Imagine that the next paragrapf is the cover page:

(This is the next page)
Comparison of performance between road bikes 26, 27.5 and 29
Introduction:
It is well known that today there is a lot of variety among mountain bicycles that one can buy, which can cause confusion when choosing one. In this report we compare the performance among bicycles of different tire sizes (26, 27.5 29) to know which is the best.
Methodology:
3 bicycles of the same brand and model will be used with the same components (except rims and tires) in a standardized track with ups and downs and the same cyclist
-Objectives
Demonstrate wich tire size has the best performance in the track
-Hypothesis
The bycicles 26ers have the advantage of being fast and light, while the 29ers presume have greater stability and reliability on the road 27.5 are the most recent and presume to have the best of both worlds. So the wheel size that will have the best performance will be 27.5
-Results
Total time for complete the track for 26ers 15 min 58 seg
Total time for complete the track for 27.5 19 min 14 seg
Total time for complete the track for 29ers 16 min 01 seg
-Discussion
The variations that could affect the final result were that although the bicycles are from the same manufacturer the components of each are not the same as some are difficult available for the geometry of the large frames. Likewise, consulting the user manuals, it was corroborated that in the smaller bikes the components of the large bikes can be obtained, but these are more expensive and difficult to install. However, despite the variations, it is noted that the 27.5 show the worst performance.
-Conclusions
The 27.5 bicycles have the worst performance and they do not offer the advantages they claim to have
