If you are the instructor of a course, how would you structure the course and its content to incorporate the anagogical approach in a college class. Instead of traditional lectures in class, what would you suggest as learning activities that would be challenging but effective in acquiring knowledge of skills in the course?
I would first like to explain the meaning of course structure. Course structure means the selection of topics and the planning and succession of the course content. The selection of topics and their organized planning shall regularly assist and support the purpose and goal for the course
If I would be the instructor of a course, I will design the course structure and content in the form of what my students are interested in learning, and what they will achieve out of it. Before preparing the course content, it is important to first decide the goals and the skills you need to inculcate in your students, and then accordingly prepare the course structure. The goals should me made which brings in personal development, communication skills, cognitive development, cognitive skills, representation skills, and problem solving skills in the students.
Then once the course structure and course goals are decided, the next step will be the process for achieving those goals. The process includes the teaching methods which are compelling, interesting and captivating, design exams, assignments, case studies and composing different types of questions which develop interest and make the college class interactive.
Traditional lectures nowadays are not effective. Traditional teaching techniques was just memorizing the studies and the information, which helps in no way to develop skills. Hence there should be very challenging learning activities which will help the students in developing skills.
By concluding, I would say an instructor should follow all this in a well organized manner and see to it that all the college students are developing knowledge and skills through the course structure and goals designed.
