What is contractual relationship ?

"A contractual relationship is a legal relationship between atleast two people who are agreed for an atleast one condition or promise ."

The health care provider and patient relationship is the central part of health care . In general the legal bond between the healthcare provider and the patient is contractual relationship.This contractual relationship begins when the patient met the healthcare provider for his/ her healing purpose and ends once the contract become over which means the relationship ends once the treatment completed or goal accomplished .In contractual relationship the healthcare provider act as agent of his / her patient ( customer ) and work towards the betterment of the patient .

The contractual relationship between the healthcare provider and the patient lasts only for short period and it require only a minimal interaction . One of the best example is : An X- ray technician and the patient have a contractual relationship, where the X- ray technician provide service by taking X -ray ,while the patient agrees to pay for the service .

Contract are essential document in all industries and also in healthcare .An appropriate contractual relationship helps the health care provider and the patient ;

* To provide and receive the best possible health care service .

* helps to avoid risks as possible

In contractual relationship the patient trusts that their physician or healthcare provider will work in their best interest inorder to acheive an optimal health outcome and involve them in a contract with healthcare provider, even though the healthcare provider has not provide any security over their health .The contractual relationships are build legally and its conditions are subsequent in nature .The health care provider provides services and ,resulting in receiving payment for the services which have provided .,Here the patient also highly beneficial by receiving high quality health care services from the health care provider .
