Many argue that America needs to eliminate debt, increase economic growth, improve education and reform health care. If you were the current U.S. President how would you prioritize the needs of the country? In what order would you rank these needs and why?

Based off of the needs of America and the priorities of the President I believe I would distribute the importance of the items listed above as follows: Improve education, Reform health care, Eliminate debt, and Increase economic growth.

As an acting President, my first call of action would be to improve the United States education system for many different reasons. The education system in the U.S. is failing due to lack of proper funding which in turn means that schools are unable to provide appropriate learning material, teacher to student ratio is relatively higher than it should be due to overcrowded classrooms, and schools are being forced to close their doors because they are unable to afford the costs to remain open. By improving education, the government is assisting in setting up the population’s future generations for success. A key factor in improving the educational system is that it not only improves this one area, but it also plays a huge part in improving economic growth through the human capital view of economic development.

Next on the list would be reforming health care as their still remains a large portion of the population who is uninsured all while health care costs continue to rise. With both of these factors, individuals who are left uninsured are unable to pay medical bills which not only plays a part in the rising costs but also increases the national debt.

The last two items I would focus on would be eliminating debt and increasing economic growth because each of the issues prior to this would aid in resolving these matters. Ultimately by improving both the education and health care industries in the United States, it allows additional assistance in improving or even potentially eliminating the remaining problems that the government focuses on. For me personally, I believe it makes more sense to improve on areas that can fundamentally improve other disciplines.
