1.when the trophozoites come in contact with the epithelium layer of colon then it secretes enzymes which cause necrosis. Due to this inflammation, and lesion formation occur, as the lesion reaches the muscular layer a flask-shaped ulcer formation takes place which causes the destruction of a larger area of the intestine. Then it reaches to the submucosa which gives access to the portal circulation & causes an invasion. the virulence factor which is involved are Gal/GalNAc lectin, amebapore and proteases, for lyse, phagocytose, kill and destroy a variety of cells and tissues in the host.
2. symptomatic patients shed noninfective trophozoites because trophozoites which do not get converted into cysts get excreated. As trophozoites unable to survive outside the body and get destroyed. Even if it is ingested then it is destroyed by the acidic medium of the stomach.
