Describe the typical salesperson as illustrated in movies, books, and television shows. Why does that image exist as the stereotypical salesperson (be specific)? What role does ethics play in perpetuating the stereotype? Whose responsibility is it to see that a company’s code of ethics is carried out?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The Typical salesperson in movies, books and television shows is more skilled, more attractive and competent to close sales deal like we see that a salesperson can close sales deal in any place at any time which may not be possible in real life. The movies and TV shows exxagerate the image of sales person which in real life is not true.

In real life that image become stereotype image of salesperson because everybody, every organization want to have such talented salesperson and they tend to think that all salesperson would be those like in movies and TV shows.

The ethics has great role because ethics means fair and right but sales people with such image or to maintain the image tend to do wrong things like deceive customers in order to close the sales deal , force them to purchase even if customers do not want etc. these are not ethical.

It is the responsibilities of both top manager as well as employees that code of ethics which is made to take ethical decision and do activities which are right are carrying out.
