Should the use of plastic shopping bags be banned? Explain using concepts in class. Review the pros and cons of banning the use of such bags. Can the Coase Theorem be used in this case (i.e., can a solution be reached between shoppers and supplies of plastic bags) or do you think the government should step in? If you believe the government should step in, what policy should it implement? What are the potential pros and cons of the policy?

The use of plastic bags was strictly avoided in the market. The major arguments which argued that the pros of avoiding plastic bags are single use, the finite resources like crude oil used as the raw materials, pulverised plastic waste in the sea gets into the food chain, the corn grown for the production of bio plastic reduce the availability of land for food growing for animals and humans. On the other hand, there are several arguments raised as the cons for the implementation of the avoiding of plastic bags. They are this plastic bag production will having a low cost of production only a few chemicals were used for the production, the production required a little energy and generates only few emissions, low weight, high strength, it resist the water and chemicals, easy of process and also fundamentally recyclable.
Government implemented several green energy projects to avoid the use of plastic bags. This ban of plastic bags ensures that the conventional plastic is never used. The overall plastic usages in the society reduced through plastic less office, collecting plastics from water bodies, using of plastics for roads surfaces, recycling of plastics for better purposes etc. The government implemented policies to reduce the usage of plastic bags in the country mainly focused on the cost of reduction of the production of this bags, the cost of this production also add with the production cost, collecting tax for this type of bags to reduce its use, the banning will increase the efficiency of the drainage infrastructure, it also reduce the need of petroleum and decrease the mosquitoes population. This will ensure the health of the community as a whole. The major disadvantages of these policies are the plastic bans manufacturers scale back and it upfront the cost of shoppers.

Birken Company manufactures shopping bags made of recycled plastic that it plans to sell for $5 each. Birken budgets production and sales of 800,000 bags for 2014, with a standard of 400,000 machine-hours for the whole year. Budgeted fixed overhead costs are $500,000, and variable overhead cost is $1.60 per machine-hour.Because of increased demand, Birken actually produced and sold 900,000 bags in 2014, using a total of 440,000 machine-hours. Actual variable overhead costs are $699,600 and actual fixed overhead is...

Because plastic is non-biodegradable, this means that when we use and dispose of plastic bags they will be taking up space in our landfills (or become a part of the giant island of plastic waste in the Pacific Ocean) forever. Show and explain why a ban on plastic grocery bags is inefficient (Hint: think of grocery stores (and by proxy grocery store shoppers) as being on the demand side here and plastic bag manufacturers as being on the supply side)....

The government is performing a study on the use of green bags when grocery shopping. It was found that a customer will shop at Coles with probability 0.39, Woolworths with probability 0.14, and Aldi with probability 0.47. A customer has a probability of 0.53, 0.21, 0.46 of using green bags if they shop at Coles, Woolworths, or Aldi (respectively). What is the probability that a random customer will use green bags? What is the probability that a person who uses...

Lightweight single-use plastic bags (we’ll just call them “bags”) often end up blowing along roadsides, clogging up waterways and hurting wildlife. Use the supply and demand model to analyze the market for bags. Are bags over- or under-consumed relative to the optimal level? Explain using your graphical model. Be careful not to decide whether bags are over- or under-consumed and then create a model that matches your priors. In 2014, California implemented a statewide ban on single-use plastic bags at...

Please use C++: Data Abstraction, Bags and Stacks: Define a class DoublyLinkedBag that implements the ADT BagInterface by using a doubly linked chain, as shown in Figure 4-10 of your textbook. You will also need to define the class Node described in Excercise 10 of Chapter 4. Your solution to this problem requires the creation/development of four files: Node.h, Node.cpp, DoublyLinkedBag.h and DoublyLinkedBag.cpp. This repository already contains BagInterface.h that contains the declaration of the BagInterface needed by this problem.
