The ontario act pay equity legislation is considered to be the one of the progressive and good act that not only provide the good Income but also safeguard the rights of workers at every level. So here below is some of the key points which makes this act a different and unique one are given below as follows :

I) Ontario called for a law called the Equal Pay Act to ensure that employers pay women and men equal pay for work of equal value.

II) This means that men and women should receive the same salary for doing jobs that may be very different but of equal or comparable value.

III) The Equal Pay Act requires employers to identify and rectify gender discrimination that may exist in their compensation methods and adjust the salaries of employees in female work classes.

IV) So that they are at least equal to the wages of employees in male labor classes when considered comparable.

V)The Equity Pay Act applies to all public sector employers and all private sector employers employing 10 or more employees. This includes employees who work full-time, part-time, and seasonally.

VI) Employees expect reasonable returns for what they contribute to their jobs, a concept known as the "fairness standard." Or the equity norms.

VII) Employees determine what their equal returns should be after comparing their exchanges and results with those of their colleagues.

Last but not the least this act is a poster boy act by which many government are thinking to work for these types of legislature by making it as a reference act.
