What are the implications to the country, to the rest of the member states, and to international trade when the WTO overturns such national environmental protections?

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization that deals with the rules of trade between nations. With the aim of ensuring that trade flows in the most fluid and predictable way possible. In response to this, the WTO can say that free trade has been an important growth engine for developing countries. Although there may be some pain in the short term, it is worth it in the long term.

Ans1)However, the WTO has often been criticized for trade rules that remain unfavorable for developing countries. Many developed countries went through a period of tariff protection that allowed them to protect new emerging national industries.
