How does Variation play an important role in phenotype?
Definition of Phenotypes: Phenotypes are nothing but the characteristics (trait) of an induvidual organism that we can notice through different expression based on their shape, size, behaviour, colour, capabilities, etc. We can't see all types of pheneotypes. For example, when we take a blood group of an induvidual, which vary and can be tested only through lab testing. Phenotypes can be caused by various factors based on the genes expressed, environmental factors, or a combination of both.
Phenotypic variation: It is the varaition that is present in a population (underlying heriditary genetic varaition). For example:
a. In flowers the colour of the flower, leaf and the fruit that is produced vary due to different phenotypes.
b. In bacteria, few bacteria will be resistant to a particular antibiotic and few might be sensitive for the same kind of antibiotics.
