what is a healthcare leader's roles in supporting data-driven decision making as well as potential challenges and ethical concerns that might exist.
Health care leaders play an important role in the transformational change of data-driven decisions. Leaders are in a position to make a driver change based on the observation and through the information. Electronic Health Record also helped the leaders in making data-driven decisions by storing and analyzing of large data. Healthcare leader improved the quality measures, care for the patient and the patient outcome by connecting data with a better change. They also motivate the staff and encourage them in new approaches and training.
Leaders can also face challenges in utilizing all available data while making the decision. Sometimes the data can be leaked if the information is not secured properly. sometimes the data can be out of date. Stakeholders can bring new technology which requires immediate decisions.
The decision must be taken along with the financial head and operational head for implementation. The leader should prepare an effective planning framework and should have a broader long-term forecast for implementation. It should be organization specific and the performance should be evaluated periodically. The leader must think about the Organization values and norms while taking the decision. It should be judgemental and within the ethical principles. The leader should follow organizational policies in the data-driven decision.
