the nurse is completing a morning chart review for the client who was admitted during the night with Crohn's disease. what would be the expected lab values for this client that would be indicative of this disease? please provide expected normal values and indicate if the abnormals would be decreased, elevated, or unchanged.

Introduction:It is inflammatory disease that can occur anywhere in the gastrointestional tract but most often affects the terminal ileum and leads to thickening and scarring,anarrowed lumen,fistulas,ulcerations and abscesaes.

Factors like stress increases symptoms of disease .Client is taught stress management techniques.

The client is taught to avoid gastroimtestinal stimulant containing caffine and follow a high protein diet.A low fibre may be prescribed especially during exacerbation periods.

Indicatives of diseases are:

Fever,cramplike and colicky pain after meals,diarrhea (semisolid) which may contain mucus and pus,abdominal distention,anorexia,weight loss,anemia,dehydration,malnutrition.

Lab values:CBC (complete blood count) It checks for anemia(low number of red blood cells) haemoglobin level 13+/-2.2 g/dl,wbc count <6.0×10 power 9 per litre

C reactive protein:Looks for protein which is a sign of inflammation. CRP<5mg per litre. hsCRP,mg/l:6.6(0.07-160)

Electrolyte pannel specially potassium because diarrhoea present.

Anti s cerevisiae antibodies(asca):test positive in chron's disease patient.

Vitamin b12,pg/ml:260(57-762)

Folic acid,ng/ml:4.3(1.3 -24)

Liver function test to screen liver problems.

Colonoscopy is more accurate diagnosis.
