In a small group, debate the question, “Who is responsible for the care of severely disabled individuals?” Does the debate bring the group closer to or more distant from support of genetic research?
Disable individuals are individuals who are living with differently from a normal individual and there is a need for assistance in the daily activities of life. Diable individual includes the person who is limit in daily activities. It can occur from the birth itself that is congenital. Another due to any accident or injury leads to damage to the body part leads to a disabled individual. Most of the cases of disabling are from birth itself because of any defect in the gene of the person. The parents are responsible for it. The gene can be transfer from the hierarchy of family or develop during the pregnancy itself. It can prevent if the parents do proper gene testing or counseling before pregnant if any one of the family members suffer any genetic diseases. By doing this the parents can avoid pregnant if high changes for delivered with disabled individuals. The disabled baby can be born because of consuming toxic substances like alcohol, drug, smoking, exposing to the radiation frequency. This can be prevented by the mother by taking proper care during the antenatal time. Now the technologies are being developed very well but still, genetic diseases are not able to cure. This is a failure side of the genetic researcher. It is time for the research to do more research to cure the condition. The more evidence base practice the more chances to reduce the genetic diseases among the population. So there is a closer distance for reducing genetic cases by doing genetic research.
