Ans: Calcium plays a major role in the body. It is one of the electrolytes inside human body and works in tandem with sodium, potassium and chlorine to maintain proper balance inside the human body. Majority of calcium is present in human bones but some amount of calcium is also present in tissues and blood. The calcium plays a major role and has following functions in human body:
Our body keep the balance of calcium by the following ways:
In body, calcium is secreted and maintained by calcitonin and parathyroid hormones
Apart from that, calcium is also maintained in body by food products like milk, broccoli and tofu
Calcium is also retained and maintained by Vitamin D
Other food products such as spinach, soya milk etc also help in maintaining calcium levels in the body.
