what role does quorum sensing and sequential timing play in microbial skin and eye disease?
The role that quorum sensing and sequential timing play in microbial skin and eye disease is that the first one helps microbes in their interactions when they are present on our skin of specific tissue . Quorum sensing helps the microbes to secrete certain protease and toxins that could mostly destroy the skin epithelial cell barrier. It is like creating a passage for the microbes to reach the innermost cells of the skin and eyes and cause inflammation. This barrier damage of epithelial cells of infective area allows the bacterial to cause futher infection and damage. QS is a kind of mechanism of bacterial pathogens that colonize the cells of specific area by interactions between them through different toxins and lytic enzymes. Sequential timing also determines the effectiveness of the certain antimicrobials towards such bacteria. As under such conditions, the growth and production of bacteria is high and inflammation is rapid, a set of antimicrobials are intaken to avoid further incubation and infection of pathogens. The sequence timing help in determining the effectiveness and time lapse between the antimicrobials to prevent the microbial infection or growth. It also determines the effectiveness and strength of certain antimicrobials in specific skin amd eye disease.
