A Doctor prescribes a aspirin 134 mg tablet to be taken orally, 0.8 mg of sublingual nitroglycerin should be taken after. What should be some monitoring parameters that someone can follow to ensure efficacy and safety of the medication use?
To ensure the efficacy and safety of the medication
Here the physician prescribed Aspirin along with nitroglycerin so the patient might be having angina or a possible cardiac disorder
To understsnd the efficacy of the medication we have to reassess the pain score of the patient . If the pain score of the patient has been reduced significantly when compared to the condition before administration of medication then it can be concluded as efficient.
If the blood pressure of the patient is under control then it also shows that they are efficient.
If the perfusion to the cardiac tissue increased then it shows that the efficacy is maintained
If the body temperature of the patient is controlled then it shows the efficacy
TO ENSURE SAFTEY
proper dose has to be given to the patient
Do not administer the medication togather as they can enhance the effect .
Make sure the patient is in a lying position
Diziness and lightheadedness are common and should be checked
Make sure the patient has not taken any alcohol or caffinated substance
Assist the patient to rise from bed as risk for orthostatic hypotension is high
Dose should be proper if overdose occur then adverse effects will occur
