Leader's perspective on quality and safety

The importance of good Leadership is becoming increasingly apparent with health care. Leadership has been shown to affect the quality of patient care, including safety. The personality and safety of leaders may contribute towards quality through the effects they have on the willingness of staff. Leadership exist at every level throughout an organization and usually includes management tasks. Good leaders should have collection of characteristics including intelligence,self confidence, determination, integrity,and sociability. Good leaders lowers staff stress and create a sense of Justice in staff which leads to higher satisfaction with their leaders and this will directly affects the quality of action by staffs.

Leader's having transformational leadership increases the quality of care and also they highlights the safety of their staffs. Transformational leadership looks for ways to motivate followers with a view to engaging them more intimately in the process of work. Transformational leaders can initiate and cope with the change,create something new from something old.

Exhaustion, overwork,and lack of support to staffs affect the quality of work and care. Good leakscan tackles all these problems by supporting their followers and assure safety to their life and thereby increase the quality of care and earn better outcome of the institution. If the leader is not able to made a trust over the staff,which makes an uncertainty between them. It will affect quality.

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. Good leaders plan for barriers and strengths and they define clear expectations. These improves the safety also. But maintaining a good interaction with the followers through which leader can exert their influence on followers to achieve organizationally safety goals. Safety leadership refers
