Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) afrea group of unknown origin that affect children in many important areas namely language, communication and social interaction. ASD affects children's ability to understand and interact with their environment. Therefore,it is essential to carefully observe the child, taking notes and measuring their abilities through the use of ASD specific and general evaluation scale.
In supporting a student with Autism,it is virtually always beneficial to Team approach to understanding and programming. Parents are the key element in therapy,not only because they spend the maximum time with their child but also they can distinctively explore their child's unique abilities.
1. Early intervention program can make a diffrence and produce positive and permanent changes in the child. Intervention in ASD has to target the child, family and environment,kindergarten,social and health resources and community environment. This intervention program should be flexible and must respect the child's individuality and uniqueness of his family. in this type of approach cognitive-behavioural and environmental issues are addressed to improve the quality of life child with ASD.
2. The child with autism may avoid contacts with classmates,and in turn classmates,may not make an effort to build a relationship or friendship because they do not understand his/her behaviour. Teachers in the regular classroom requires to teach the other classmates about the Autism spectrum disorder-as well as the need for that particular child in his/her classroom which will easily help them to understand child with ASD.
3.Using the pre-planned preventive strategies help the teachers to manage the challenging behavior. By keeping the more positive interaction wiht the child on your part can intervene or controll the behavior when the child is expected to be more excited. Involve the child in frequently modifies tasks and take frequent breaks by giving him repeatedly positive feedback or praise.
4. and 5. to help the child with ASD, we can involve the multi-disciplinary team that includes educational specialists and allied health professional to put adjustment in places that fits with in the context of their classroom and school.
6. it is highly recommended that the identity of the child with ASD will always be held confidential. information can only be shared in the form of oral/written by taking into account the full permission/consent of the parents.
