(9.2) There have been some very well known persons in history - Ana Carolina - who have eating disorders and obesity. Give your assessment of this persons disorder.
Ana Carolina a Brazilian model who at age of 13 become the queen of Jundiai in 1999. A model who dreamt of becoming a supermodel. But this dream costs her life as she died of anorexia. People in anorexia believe that they had distorted body image that leads them to see themselves as overweight. Individual often stared refusing to eat, exercising compulsively and also refusing to eat in front of others; they lose large amount weight and starve themselves to death. Ana wants to be a successful model and in present times being skinny chic and size zero figure are marked as essential standards of fashion world. Ana was second model to die from an eating disorder that year. In August, at a fashion show in Uruguay, 22-year-old Luisel Ramos suffered a heart attack thought to be the result of anorexia. It shows that how destructive our current perception of female beauty can be. reston travelled alone to other countries so she had no one to comfort her at times when she feels lonely or depressed due to comments that models receive during events and they often started eating less to become more beautiful. reston starting of disorder can be traced with letters she sends to her mother where she sounds unhaapy. so we can say that competation and beauty standards made models depress and they often started doing things that further costt them their lives.
