1. The slogan says “Please stay behind the yellow line” in railway station. What happens if passengers stand close to the coming train? [120 words]

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution :

Okay , We should start with the basic of why person should not be standing close to the coming train.

According to bernoulli's , Pressure energy + kinetic energyof water + potential energy of water should be constant.

Now with the help of the beernoulli's conclusion we can deduce that,

if, V2 > V1 then P1 > P2 i.e velocity is inversly proportional to pressure.

When a passenger stand close to the train, let the velocity of air between the passenger and the train is V1 and the velocity behind the passenger is V2 , As train approches the passanger the velocity of the air bewteen train and passenger will be large as compared to the velocity behind the passenger i.e V1 > V2

Now, Using bernoulli's principle P2 > P1 , i.e pressure behind the passenger will be high as compared to pressure between the train and passenger.

So, the passenger will get a push towrds the train that can lead to worse situation. Hence the person should obey that slogon and should not be standing close to the comming train.
