Immune system is one the system's of our body. It's function is to provide immunity against infection and toxins. It consists of bone marrow, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, skin , mucous membrane etc. They are of two types:-
1 Natural immunity - it is the immunity which an individual had inherited from patents and is active throughout life. It is also known as innate immunity.
2.Acquired immunity- it is the immunity acquired by an individual after exposure to a disease or after vaccination,or after getting directly injected by antibodies. It is not present by birth . They are of two types :-
A) Active immunity - the hosts produces antibodies itself after exposure to disease ( called natural active immunity) ,and when the person is vaccinated against a disease( called artificial active immunity). It is a slow process and is active for long time.
B) Passive immunity - in this antibodies are not produced in the host rather it is produced in some other's body and is directly injected to another individual. It's of two types-
Natural - the immunoglobulins IgG and IgA are transferred into mother to baby through placenta and breast milk.
Artificial - the immunoglobulin vaccine which are dire7injected to produce immunity.
These are fast in process but for short period of time.
