A ball is rolled off a table and at the very instant the rolling ball leaves the table a second ball from rest is dropped from the same height above the floor as the table.
From the above why is the horizontal and vertical parts of the ball's motion independent of one another? Does the vertical part of the motion change when the horizontal part does?
How does the vertical part of the motion of the ball rolling off the table compare to the motion of the ball being dropped vertically?
