  • Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts play an important role in bone formation and bone resorption. Osteoblasts are involved in synthesizing matrix and secretion of collagen and other organic compounds that are required for growth of the bone.
  • Osteocytes play an important role in bone turnover and maintenance of mineral concentration of the matrix.
  • Osteoclasts secretes enzymes such as proteases that functions to degrade bones.
