The focus of Chapter 9 is home health and related community- based systems. What are your experiences with such settings? Do you expect to have more contact with them in the future?

Home health or community health is a, health workers or community health nurses instead of waiting for patients to come to hospital with an illness, they go into community to try to help people improve their health and prevent diseases.

• Working as a community health nurse was a rewarding experience. It gave opportunity to participate and contribute toward problem solving or atleast mitigating, the enormous challenges that the community was facing.
• CHN occupy a unique position especially in a setting where clinical health professionals are hard to access. At that time CHN are the only ones who provide health education and preventive services.
• We served as we explained different programme objectives in their own language. Be it vaccination campaign, health education or needs assessment survey.
• My work as a CHN was the first instilled in me the interest in public health and definitely plan to continue to work on the problems and challenges of those who are under served.
