What are some examples of addictive foods and what is your advice for someone trying transition from eating junkfood to a healthy diet?
Addictive food are those food which have large amount of fat,sugar,salt. These foods acts same as like addictive drugs (cocaine) . When these are taken dopamine is released in brain and give temporary pleasures and the cycle is repeated many times.
Examples of addictive foods--
pizza,burgers, ice cream ,chocolate, chips,fried chicken ,cakes ,French fries.
Advices for transition from eating junkfood to healthy diet--
1)Try drinking water ,don't keep your self thirsty-- many times we feels thirsty and we confused with it hunger or food cravings. Many times seen drinking water reduces appetite and also have a benefit in weight loss as it reduces the food intake .take atleast 6 to 8 glass of water per day.
2)Add more protein to your diet---- as protein takes time to digest and has a role in building body as well as energy source . Protein reduces the apetite and help in weight loss. Maintain you should not use lot of oils .also don't fry the chicken ,red meat. You can use plant protein .
3) Don't skip your breakfast-- a breakfast containing high fibres,protein and less amount of fat,sugar,salt is recommended.high fibres food like cereals, fruits ,whole grains bread,vegatables.Breakfast is the most precious meal of the day .It is the first meal from where you start your day and so this is important.
4) Add more high fibre carbohydrates-- high fibre food like cereals, wholegrain wheat,brown rice . Avoid any kind of fried food because it would be ful of calories.
5) Eat more vegetables and fruits ,also add spinach in diet-- you should add vegetables and fruits in your diet.because it not only give carbohydrates source but also micronutrients. Spinach reduces the rate of fat digestion and reduces the food cravings.
6)Add fish containing omega 3 fatty acid -- fish is a great source of omega 3 fatty acid .it has been seen omega3 fatty acid reduces the chance of heart diease .
7) Avoid junkfood,addictive foods-- junkfood, pizza,burgers,chocolate, cake ,cookies, ice cream etc.you have to avoid that food which have a lot amount of saturated fat,sugar ,salt.
8) Restrict your salt intake-- reduce the amount of salt intake . Salt can change your blood pressure level and also it drains more amount of water . Don't take salt more than 5 g per day.
9)Avoid being getting hungry-- if you feel more hungry than your cravings will be more and so try to avoid hungry.whenever you feel hungry eat but not in much amount .
10)Increase number of meals and also small the amount of food intake at a time-- don't take much amount of food at a time .beacuse excess food will leads to formation of fat in body and leads to unhealthy.
11) Try to motivate yourself -- you have to encourage yourself from inside .you can see any motivation speech or read books for keep your motivation at a level.
12) Reduce the stress--it has been seen stress have a role in induction of craving and also increase appetite. So try to avoid stress.
