Airlines for America (A4A) is promoted on behalf of its members to shape key policies and measures that encourages safety, security and a healthy U.S. airline industry. The work is together done with airlines, labor, Congress, the Administration and other groups to upgrade aviation for the purpose of traveling and shipping public.

In the annual period, commercial aviation helps in making nearly $1.7 trillion in U.S. economic activity and more than 10 million U.S. jobs. A4A strongly promotes on behalf of the American airline industry as a model of safety, customer service and environmental responsibility and as the essential network that drives our nation’s economy and global competitiveness.

Some examples of strong steps being taken by A4A member airlines to make customer service more better are:

1. Eliminating or reducing overbooking completely
2. Banning use of law implementation to remove passengers from a flight, except in cases of safety or security.
3. Making sure that no passenger is forcibly removed from a flight for another passenger.
4. Ensuring that crews traveling must be booked at least 60 minutes before departure.
5. Giving gate agents the caution to offer higher amounts of money as an inducement  for customers to voluntarily take a different flight.
6. Airlines are reopening their focus on training for all customer-facing staff to make sure they are taking care of passengers.
7. Efforts are ongoing to provide passengers more clarity and understanding on what their rights are as consumers.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index Travel Report  lately confirmed some key metrics that revealed improvements in the flying experience,improved online web booking, improved check-in process, text alerts informing passengers and innovative baggage handling technology.
