Expert Solution

During the 1980s and 1990s, the rate of unintended pregnancy was high. the women are also exposed to harmful substances of alcohol and tobacco which increased the abortion rate in the U.S. Most of the mothers are depressed and physically abused during that period. Couples were unplanned about their pregnancy. Financial burden and lack of knowledge of genetic problem also increase the abortion rate.

Focus on reducing unintended pregnancy reduced the abortion rate. Make awareness on the individuals and the couples of the unintended pregnancy. The abortion is recommendable only under special circumstances of

  • To save and safeguard of mother's health and life.
  • Pregnancy due to child abuse or rape.
  • Genetic problem of the fetus

The above three are the ultimate reasons where abortion is acceptable. But still, the debate is going on over other reasons for the poverty, control of populations, unwanted or teenage pregnancy. anyway, the abortion law should be regulated by the state and federal governments.
