Expert Solution

Which of the four categories of causes of violent crimes do you agree has the most impact? (biological, socialization, cognitive and situational factors) Why?

Socialisation factors, according to me, would be the most important factor that would be affecting the behavior of a person, influencing them towards violent behaviors. This is because, a person Learns the manner in which he would be thinking or the manner in which they would be feeling emotions. It has been found that socialisation plays an important role in shaping the personality of a person.

It has been found that antisocial behaviors, aggressive behaviors aa well as violent behaviors have been learnt significantly from other people. Also, these behaviors would be held in reserve such that they would come out in specific situations socially.

Thoughbiological factors have been seen to play an important role in the aggression factors, though, the exact reason for the same could not be identified. Example:

1) even if a child does not have any parent or relative having a history of violence, in the influence of his peers might get engaged in activities that are violent.

2) in the form of self fulfilling prophecies, even if the individual does not want to get engaged in violent or aggressive activities, with the society constantly labelling them as being offenders or assuming them to be offending in their future, they tend to become aggressive and involved in violent crimes.
